Dr. Tubbs was raised in Stuart. He attended undergraduate studies at Wayne State College. After completion of medical school at Ross University School of Medicine, he undertook Master of Public Health studies at the University of Kansas before completing his residency in Family Practice at Creighton University Medical Center.
He has a wide spectrum of medical interest and maintains a full service practice. He cares for patients in all phases of life from delivering babies to the nursing home resident. He offers upper and lower Endoscopy. In addition he is the Chief Medical Officer of both West Holt Memorial and Rock County Hospitals. He has privileges at Avera St. Anthony’s hospital also.
He is the Medical director for multiple nursing homes and several Ambulance services. He also has an interest in Sports Medicine and can be seen at numerous sporting events in the area.
He however is most proud of his wonderful family. His wife Erica and children Abigail, Chiana, Hunter, Kyra and Emma are his guiding light.
When not at work he is an avid golfer. He also takes pride in building furniture and pretty much any outdoor activity.

Dr. Welshons is a 2003 graduate of Ashland-Greenwood High School in Ashland Nebraska. He obtained his B.S in Biotechnology from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2009 and his medical degree at Rocky Vista University in 2014.
He completed his internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Hospital in Honolulu, HI. He is board certified in family medicine. Dr. Welshons has been in the Army since 2002 and has served in both the National Guard and Active Army.
He has recently completed his service obligation from the military and relocated to Stuart, NE. His wife, Nicole is a 2004 graduate of Stuart High School. Together they have 5 boys, Ethan, Carter, Graham, Reid, and Finn. Dr. Welshons enjoys hunting, fishing, RVing, cooking, construction, and spending time with his family.

Erica is a 1997 graduate of Stuart Public School in Stuart, NE. She attended Briar Cliff College and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2001. She attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center and received a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2004.
She married Dr. John Tubbs in 2001. She joins her husband in operating Greater Sandhills Family Healthcare, PC. They established three rural health clinics in 2007 and are both dedicated to providing quality rural healthcare.
Erica gained her certified diabetes educator credential in 2013 and takes a special interest in working with diabetic patients in managing their care. Erica and John have five children, Abigail, Chiana, Hunter, Kyra, and Emma. Erica enjoys spending time with her family.

Tara grew up in Atkinson, NE. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Creighton University in 1998. Then in 2005, she graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing, again from Creighton University. She is certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in rural medicine her entire Nursing career.
Tara enjoys all aspects of family medicine but especially loves women’s health, pediatrics and aesthetics. She values the importance of listening to her patients to work to achieve the best outcomes for their health.
Tara and her husband Brett reside in Bassett with their two children. She cherishes any time with her family. She enjoys being outdoors, whether it be camping, hunting, fishing or relaxing at the lake with family and friends.

Jeanne grew up on a farm in Atkinson and received her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and her Master of Physician Assistant Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1996 with special distinction.
Jeanne has been practicing family medicine in rural Holt County since graduation. Her practice focuses on all aspects of family care including wellness visits and preventive medicine for all ages, sick visits, minor procedures, obstetrical care, and treatment of chronic illnesses. Jeanne enjoys knowing her patients personally and focuses on all aspects of their well-being. Additionally, she is a certified breastfeeding educator, and certified in allergy testing and treatment of chronic allergies. She serves patients in our clinic locations in Atkinson, Stuart, and Bassett.
Jeanne is certified from the National Academy of Physician Assistants, and maintains active membership with the Nebraska Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Jeanne and her Husband Mike reside on a ranch South of Atkinson. Her passions include serving on Medical Mission trips, traveling, and spending time with her children and extended family.

Amelia attended undergrad at Chadron State College and graduated with a Bachelors in Science. She then attended UNMC, where she graduated in 2015 with her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.
She graduated with honors, and academic excellence. She was born and raised in Holt County, and has been practicing with Greater Sandhills Family Healthcare since 2016.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and family, and has a passion for training, traveling and competing with her horses.
